Looking for a way to sell your application to mobile operators around the world? Now it is only a click away.
We have added a new feature to Openwave's Mobile Applications Directory. As you know, the directory contains many interesting applications and content offerings that are based on MMS, Java technology, XHTML and WAP. According to IDC, content is critical for mobile operator market success and the improved Mobile Apps Directory is a great tool to get your application in front of operators. Selling Your App The new directory feature allows you to specifically target participating operators by sending them your application for their consideration. This is a fast track to revenue via a streamlined submission process, backed by a pre-determined revenue-share business model and supported by a settlement service so you get paid. Once your application has been accepted for the directory, you can:
There is no charge for this service. By submitting your content to us, your qualified applications become available for view by our global operator network. You choose which operators you wish to distribute to, so you retain the freedom to work directly with your established customers while benefiting from Openwave's global presence. Getting Your App in the Directory To have your application considered for the Mobile Applications Directory, you must register as an Openwave developer and complete the application submission form. Submissions are evaluated and receive a ranking by the Openwave team based on a five-star scale. Submissions must earn at least three stars (based on novelty, usability and technical excellence) to be listed. Selected applications that receive five starts are included in the Applications Showcase. The Showcase is featured on Openwave.com and in the Openwave Developer newsletter providing additional exposure for your app. During the evaluation process, a representative from the Openwave Developer Network will contact you and provide feedback on your application. Should your application not qualify the first time, you may resubmit a new version. And we encourage you to use the developer support services to help improve your application. Once your application is accepted, it is posted in the Directory. At that point two things happen:
