You love the Phone Simulator V7 - at least 60% of the downloads from the Developer website are for the V7 Simulator. Over the last few months, we've continued to work on improving your download experience. The typical download takes 3-5 minutes (obviously, over broadband).
While we tend to focus attention on the SDK, documentation is also important. Articles in the Support/Documents section receive the heaviest traffic on the site; last month over 34,000 PDFs were downloaded. The most popular documents are for WAP Push, XHTML and the MMSC. The "top pages visited" continue to be the Phone Simulator, Mobile SDK (which does not include the Phone Simulator V7), and Supported Phones. Less of you know about our Tool Chooser page, which helps you select which SDK you should download, and the Test Servers page, which lets you test your WAP, MMS and location applications. Last month, we added a new page that centralizes information on device management featuring WURFL and WALL. You'll find this month's new articles on the WURFL Java APIs and using WALL for menus on this page. Also last month, we asked for your feedback on what platform you'd like to use for the SDK. The resounding answer came from viruses! We received about four messages with viruses for every legitimate response. Thank you to all of you who responded. The overwhelming choice was Linux, with Macintosh a close second. |
