This document describes the bugs known to exist in the Openwave® Phone Simulator 7.x that are considered to be most important to application developers. If you discover a bug not listed here, please report the bug to our Developer Support Team.
SDK 7.0
To receive messages, you must first start the browser when you
start the phone simulator, to establish a session, before you
start the Messaging application.
If you provision the simulator on an MMSC, you may not be able
to view the first message you send to yourself. You should
experience no problems with the second and subsequent messages.
The PhoneSimulator will hang if a link that makes a phone call is selected.
<a href="wtai://wp/mc;...> or <a href="tel:...>
will cause this error. There is no workaround at this time.
When launching simulator from a third-party IDE, use the
-workdir [path] argument, where
[path] is the path to the simulator's phone.exe
executable. (If [path] contains spaces, enclose it in
in quotes.) Otherwise, the simulator may not start successfully.
For example:
For third-party IDE add-ins
provided by Openwave, you can specify this argument in the
"Additional command-line options" field of the add-in's Options
dialog.
The Phone Simulator
may become unstable or hang when downloading a DRM separate
delivery protected image.
After loading a page in the Phone Simulator
with -go file://, pressing BACK causes an blank Finder screen to
appear.
The Phone Simulator
doesn't recognize ks_c_5601 character set and can't render Korean
content.
