Roadmap to UP.SDK documentation
UP.SDK documentation assumes that you are familiar with the Common Gateway Interface (CGI) protocol. To get the most from UP.SDK documentation, you should also be familiar with the HyperText Markup Language (HTML) and programming languages, such as C and Perl.
UP.SDK documentation includes the following manuals:
- The UP.SDK Developer's Guide, the manual you are reading now, describes in detail how to implement an HDML service. It also describes how to use advanced UP.SDK features, such as faxing and notifications.
- The UP.SDK Getting Started Guide provides instructions for installing and getting started with the UP.SDK. It discusses the basics of generating HDML and providing an HDML service. Read this manual first.
- The UP.SDK Tools and APIs Reference provides instructions and reference information for tools and APIs provided with the UP.SDK. It includes instructions for using the UP.Simulator, as well as reference information on Perl and C libraries that perform operations such as creating digests and generating HDML.
- The HDML Language Reference provides reference information about the HDML language.
- The UP.Browser User Handbook provides instructions for using an UP.Phone. Although it is an end-user manual, it is useful for getting acquainted with the UP.Phone interface. In particular, it helps you use the UP.Simulator.
