After you install the UP.SDK, the first thing you'll probably want to do is run the UP.Simulator. The UP.Simulator is a Windows application that emulates the behavior of an actual UP.Phone, thereby allowing you to access and test your HDML services.
For complete information on the UP.Simulator, including instructions on running it with non-English languages, see the UP.SDK Tools and APIs Reference. Because the UP.Simulator works just like a real UP.Phone, you can also refer to the UP.Browser User Handbook for usage instructions.
The UP.Simulator has the following modes:
It is recommended that you start by using the UP.Simulator in HTTP direct mode. It doesn't require any special setup, so you can test services right away. The UP.Simulator is configured to use HTTP direct mode by default.
There are a few advanced UP.SDK features that you can't test using HTTP direct mode, such as bookmarks, faxing, and "push" transactions (notifications). To test services that provide these features you must register the UP.Simulator with an UP.Link server (see the UP.SDK Tools and APIs Reference for additional information about using the UP.Simulator in UP.Link mode).
