UP.Simulator status and error messages

The UP.Simulator provides two kinds of error messages:

UP.Browser messages

The UP.Simulator displays some error messages directly on the UP.Simulator display. These correspond to the messages that users see on real UP.Phones. Many of these messages are generated by the UP.Link server. For a list of them, see UP.Phone Errors and Troubleshooting.

When you are testing your services, you might see one of the following error messages:

To see the specific line numbers containing the HDML errors and descriptions of the errors, look in the Phone Information window (described in the following section).

IMPORTANT     If you load an invalid HDML deck when you are running the UP.Simulator in UP.Link mode, you will not be able to view specific information about the errors. The UP.Simulator only displays a "Web service problem" message. This is because the UP.Link server verifies the HDML before it sends it to the UP.Simulator.

Phone Information messages

The UP.Simulator prints status and HDML error messages to a DOS shell window called "Phone Information." By default, the Phone Information window is minimized, so you need to click it in the Windows Task Manager bar to see it.
