The UP.SDK
The Unwired Planet Software Development Kit provides tools for developers who want to create or maintain WML services. The UP.SDK consists of the following:
-
The UP.Simulator, a Windows 95/NT application that simulates the behavior of an UP.Phone and makes it easy to test WML services.
-
Perl and C library functions that simplify the process of generating WML and handling HTTP requests.
-
C++ (Solaris) and COM (Windows) notification libraries and tools.
-
Tools for requesting and installing SSL (Secure Socket Layer) certificates.
-
Sample WML files and application source code which you can use as a starting point for your own WML services.
-
Developer documentation consisting of online manuals in Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF). For a description of the different UP.SDK manuals, see Roadmap to UP.SDK documentation.
IMPORTANT
The UP.SDK Version 3.2 for WML contains documentation and sample code for developing applications using WML 1.1. In order to access these applications, devices must use Version 3.1 (or above) of the UP.Browser software. If you want devices running Versions 2.x or 3.0 of the UP.Browser to access your service, you should develop your application using HDML instead. In this case, download either UP.SDK Version 2.0 or Version 3.2 for HDML, respectively, and refer to the associated documentation and sample code.
